Accessibility Statement

Radhwa International School wants every visitor — including prospective families, current parents, and students — to be able to use this website, regardless of ability. This statement describes what's actually been done so far, and what's still in progress. We've written it to be accurate rather than to claim more than we can back up.

What we've done

• An automated accessibility audit (using axe-core, the same engine behind Google Lighthouse) has been run across every page of the American Section site, in both English and Arabic. Real issues were found and fixed, including low-contrast text, a keyboard-navigation bug on the Staff page, and a touch target that was too small on mobile. The site currently shows zero automated accessibility violations.
• Text and interface colors are checked against WCAG contrast standards (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and interface components).
• Interactive elements — buttons, links, form controls — are built using real semantic HTML (actual <button> and <a href> elements), not decorative elements pretending to be interactive, so that keyboard and screen reader users can reach and activate them the same way mouse users do.
• Animations that aren't essential to reading the content (background motion, hover effects) respect your device's "reduce motion" setting.

What's still in progress

We are not claiming formal conformance to a specific WCAG level (such as WCAG 2.1 AA) at this time. Automated testing catches a meaningful set of real issues, but it isn't a substitute for testing with real assistive technology and real users. Specifically still outstanding:

• Manual keyboard-navigation and screen-reader testing across the site, beyond what automated tooling can check.
• A broader accessibility review covering areas automated tools can't fully evaluate, such as reading order and the clarity of interactive instructions.
• Real usability testing with people who use assistive technology day to day.
